As the busiest UK script consultant and script writer for hire in the business I’m a big fan of director Jonathon Glazer. ‘Sexy Beast’ is a great fun movie, and ‘Under the Skin’ is a masterpiece I think. Birth (2004) falls somewhere in between and maybe down the cracks as well.
I’ve been glued to Netflix in the past few weeks, watching as many originals as I could. As well as Triple Frontier which I blogged about today also (see previous post) I also watched The Red Sea Diving Resort as well, another film (and Netflix original), which tries hard and just falls short.

As a UK script consultant and script writer for hire I was looking at the list of best British films on Wikipedia the other day. There’s some cracking films on there, and a lot of dross, or very odd choices too.
As a UK script consultant and script writer for hire I caught up with The Hustler (1961) again recently. It’s one of, if not the best film about gambling and sports ever made. It’s also a character study, and shines a light on how winning, can sometimes be unpleasant.
