As a pro script writer for hire and leading UK Script Consultant with credits on ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 and the BBC – stretching back to Ewan McGregor’s first short film in 1994 – I’m slightly amazed by the cottage industry that’s popped up online offering script reading services on an industrial scale.
I spend most of my time writing scripts for clients who contact me through this website – producers and directors, sometimes actors and even people starting out in the industry. In the past I’ve worked with directors like Justin Chadwick, Jon Baird, Ian Bevit, Sara Hermann and Mitu Misra.
I do offer a script reading service for people who contact me, and I’m pretty sure the service that I offer is a little bit different from other often complained about industrial script reading services.
First of all, I personally review your script – that is, a BAFTA shortlisted professional script writer with credits across all the UK networks. When you contact other agencies – do you know the level of experience of the person reviewing your script? – Can you ask that person for their link on the BAFTA website?
Another thing that makes my service stand out – is that if your script doesn’t work – I’ll give specific advice on how to fix it. I can also offer genuine, real, career advice for people who contact me for script advice – hard fought career advice, with genuine war stories from the front line of UK film and television production – real life industrial script writing experience.
Better than other script consultants

Advice for new scriptwriters
If you’ve wound up on this page as a rookie scriptwriter looking for help with script coverage, the following blogposts contain some advice from me and might be useful:

Contact Script Consultant UK
My honest in-depth and comprehensive advice as a professional script writer and leading UK script consultant isn’t too pricey either.
Prices are as follows:
- Short film script report £50
- TV drama up to one hour script report £80
- Feature film script report £120
If you’re looking for the UK’s best script coverage or screenplay analysis services, stop right now and pull up a chair for a one-to-one with a professional BAFTA nominated scriptwriter. Don’t bother, wasting time and money with anonymous readers, or faceless notes from someone with questionable experience when you can have advice, help and an in-depth script report from a genuine professional.
I’m also, friendly, happy to chat and exchange TV and film writing war stories (I can bore on a bit about my experiences!)
And, (this is more important that you think) – I always treat all writers at all level of experience with courtesy and respect. It costs nothing to be kind (although it’s often forgotten in film and TV).
And below is my showreel:
There aren’t many script coverage services that show examples of their own work for the screen.
