I’m flogging my wares here as a script writer for hire and UK script consultant – especially when it concerns Virtual Production – there aren’t many scriptwriters who can say they’re trained on VP – as well as been a BAFTA nominated scriptwriter I’ve also got a new certificate which explains I know my way around a VP studio too – inside out or outside in (a VP joke there).
Thanks to the lovely people at Research & Innovation Centre | XPLOR – which is one of the leading virtual production centres in the world and part of the Film & TV, Virtual Production Skills Bootcamp | Academy of Live Technology – who train students on the latest cutting edge virtual production techniques – I managed to get myself on an intensive eight week training course on VP and I even got to use one of their stages to whip up a short student film (shot entirely in a few hours) which you can see below.
So, yes, there aren’t many actual scriptwriters who have looked at (in detail) exactly how VP works, and the benefits – and some of the tricks of the trade – having worked with the technology I understand pretty well its explosive potential – but its limits and occasional ‘baked in’ problems (another VP joke there – unreal!).
So, if you are putting a together a project that is going to be done on VP and you need a scriptwriter that understands VP and what it can and cannot do – I might be able to help. Get in touch on – matcoop23@yahoo.co.uk
