You have a script or screenplay (maybe you’ve written it, maybe you’re a producer or director) and it kind of works, but it needs the services of a script writer for hire, with experience and skills to really bring the most out of it.
So, how much would it cost to get a professional script writer to fix your script?
Speaking as a pro scriptwriter with nearly 30 years experience in the industry and one of the UKs most in demand script editors and script consultants I can only say that every job is different and what each script needs has to be evaluated first.
So, you need to hire me to do script coverage (or a script report first). In the report I’ll highlight strengths and weaknesses and tell you what needs fixing (and sometimes how to actually fix it). In the report I’ll also give you a quote for my rewrite and script development service.
I’ve fixed screenplays for all kinds of prices from £250 (a small tweak) to £3500 (total rewrite) it entirely depends on what the issue is. Most jobs fall somewhere in between these prices.
So the first step – is get me to evaluate the material.
Prices are as follows:
- Short film script report £50
- TV drama up to one hour script report £80
- Feature film script report £120
Turnaround time on the reports is usually around two weeks (depending on my own workload as a script writer).
