As the UK’s busiest script consultant, my script reading service and script coverage service is probably the most popular in the UK, with new scriptwriters and more experienced pros.
The feedback is that my script reports are certainly the most in-depth on the market – with page by page notes on what to change, what needs fixing and in many cases, how the script’s problems can be overcome – and how the story, characters and writing can be improved.
But, there’s another service that I have started to offer – MARGIN NOTES – a real SCRIPT EDIT.
Margin Notes – a Real Script Edit from a pro scriptwriter
As a BAFTA nominated script writer for hire – I’ve worked on the core writing teams of Emmerdale, Eastenders, Family Affairs and Hollyoaks – so I’ve had more SCRIPT EDITS than most writers have had hot dinners. You might ask yourself WHAT IS A SCRIPT EDIT?
A script edit is page by page, line by line set of notes (in the margins of the script). These notes are often very specific – even down to dialogue readings–the script edit / margin notes process gives the writer a specific set of notes on where to improve and HOW to IMPROVE the script – the Margin Notes process will sometimes bat problems back to the writer – and set them specific issues to improve in the next draft – but in most cases the script edit is there to give the writer very detailed info on what needs changing and how to change it – and even WHAT TO CHANGE IT TO. These are direct notes – from a pro script writer / consultant.
Script consultant and script doctor
This service is new to me and my clients – and I have trailed this service first – offering a few writers who approached me the Margin Notes Script Edit. To get this service to work best for new writers – it’s best offered as an add on to my script reading service – as it will only be effective on scripts that by and large, are working. It’s a service designed to try to make a good script – a pro standard one. A big ask, and it will only work for writers who already have excellent skills.
So, MARGIN NOTES / SCRIPT EDIT is now available and it costs £199 – currently its only currently available to writers who have already taken up my services via a script report.
