Writers and filmmakers need to wake up to the fact that broadcasters, studios and traditional media gatekeepers aren’t your employers anymore – they’re your competitors
A lot of people offer this sort of service, including some very questionable anonymous reader services (why would you pay someone to read your script not knowing what experience they have?)… Anyways, I always try give advice from a the point of view of someone who has pro credits and has worked in the trenches for quite a bit.
For ages, I’ve been meaning to put a load of my TV work on a page here on this website, it’s easier to do now, with shows like Emmerdale uploading old eps to YouTube.
So, I had a quick look online today and found a ton of my old credits. Which you can see below.
And a few scriptwriters I’ve helped this year with my script report service have had major successes too, I’ve been really pleased about that.
This is a genuine EastEnders storyline document if anyone fancies a look – its very old, so I’m sure there’s no commercial problems with sharing it.
As the busiest UK script consultant and script writer for hire on the World Wide Web, I get a lot of rookie scriptwriters asking me about how to sell their feature film script. Well, let me tell you, that most scripts don’t sell–even the ones that get made–they get optioned. And in the UK–you’re not going to be able to make a living from having scripts optioned – in fact, you’ll be lucky if you can pay your rent for one month from the average option deal.
I was really chuffed to be invited on the Light on Leeds podcast recently. Where I was asked to talk about my career, how it started with the Lloyds Bank Channel Four Film Challenge back in the 90s
If you’re taking a script reading course to ‘make money’ or ‘earn a living as a script reader’ you might as well buy a few scratch cards instead
This is the first in a series of post by clients who have used my script coverage service. This is a useful post written by screenwriter Adele Smaill… Take it away Adele…
On top of my work as the UK’s busiest script writer for hire and script consultant, did you know I was a director too? Well you do now…
